Project Description - Breathing Captivity
This project originates from my Biomimicry – digital only project. The oak tree and my digital looks serve as the conceptual and visual foundation for a new collection designed for the outdoor brand Klättermusen.
Inspired by the strength, resilience, and longevity of the oak, the collection explores the relationship between nature, protection, and endurance. Through digital design, I translate the structure, textures, and symbolism of the oak tree into garments that reflect both vulnerability and strength.
Brand - Klättermusen

How can I use my knowledge of the oak tree to create a collection that attracts a new consumer, strengthens the brand’s DNA, and at the same time meets their aesthetic and vision of minimizing their footprint. without compromising their core values?

Utility, extreme durability, and environmentally considerate design and materials.
Decoding Klättermusen in order to create relevant designs.
The Biomimicry method Life’s Principles helped shape the design direction and ensured the sustainable aspect of the project.
I defined the following direction for the project ->
Adapt to Changing Conditions
A gender-neutral, embracing, and flexible collection that can be styled in different ways.
Rethinking functional clothing – one piece should have multiple uses.

Evolve to Survive
Some styles will contain hidden messages that create a feeling of being seen and heard.

Be Resource Efficient
One product should serve multiple functions and invite discovery.
Comfort and functionality are essential, but they can coexist with a lifestyle product.

Sketches
I began by creating physical sketches to develop an initial idea of the design. Afterwards, I continued sketching in CLO3D to explore details, shapes, and construction.
I developed the collection with a focus on layering, as Klättermusen does not work with traditional seasonal collections. This approach made more sense for both my product and concept.
