This project is a user-centered design of a lined jacket. The focus is on meeting the user’s needs while allowing my own designidentity to shine through.
I began by conducting a wardrobe analysis to identify which jackets were preferred by my user and which ones she didn’t wear.
From this, I established the key insights and created a design brief for myself.
as part of the brief, I created an aesthetic design strategy to keep the design focused and relevant to my user.
I want to create a jacket that people look forward to wearing – a functional, tactile, and inspiring experience where materials, texture, and design come together with a surprising twist.
The Challenge:
The goal is to design a practical, outdoor-inspired jacket that also appeals to the designer within my user. It should be oversized in just the right way, allowing space for layering, and versatile enough to fit into a wardrobe for various occasions.
